Philip T. Travis

Mr. Travis has practiced public accounting since 1977. He is a native Nashvillian, graduated from Stratford High School in 1973 and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1977. He was married to his wife Karen in 1977 and has a daughter Brittany and son, Philip who joined the firm in 2010. He began his public accounting career with Richard L. Cooper, a partner at Tom Smith & Associates.

In 1981, Mr. Cooper and Mr. Travis formed a partnership which later became known as Cooper, Travis & Company, PLC. Phil has worked extensively over his 40-year career with many heavy highway contractors in the excavation, paving, bridge, quarry, and ready-mix businesses. He also works with numerous general building contractors and subcontractors in the electrical, plumbing, drywall, and mechanical trades. He also serves construction suppliers, architects, engineers and many other non-construction related concerns.

Timothy M. Cooper

Mr. Cooper has practiced public accounting since 1996. He is native to Nashville and attended the University of Mississippi and graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy in 1995 and a Master of Accountancy in 1996. He began his career with Price Waterhouse, LLP in the products and manufacturing audit division in Memphis, Tennessee and later became part of their prestigious transaction services team based in Atlanta Georgia.

Tim has been concentrating on accounting for construction and real estate development since 1999. He has taken an active role in advising on several mergers and acquisitions of construction companies. His primary passion is proactive tax planning for his clients as well as striving to provide any and all tax incentives available. He has become a proficient leader in the industry assisting qualifying contractors in obtaining well-deserved research and development as well as energy efficiency related tax credits and deductions.

Hillious Sullivan

Mr. Sullivan, a graduate of the University of Tennessee, began his career with M. C. West, Inc., a large excavating, mining, asphalt paving and limestone quarry construction company. M. C. West, Inc. was subsequently acquired by Rogers Group, Inc., where he became chief accountant of the Mid-South division.

In 1984, he entered public accounting with Cooper, Travis & Company, PLC. His area of concentration centers around heavy construction contractors and subcontractors to the building trades.

Matthew Hale

Matthew Hale joined the firm in 2012. Mr. Hale has been practicing public accounting with a heavy concentration in the construction and real estate development industry since 2005. He graduated from Lipscomb University in 2004 and earned a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Tennessee in 2005. Mr. Hale served as the President of the Middle Tennessee chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association for 2017 and 2018.

Mr. Hale provides audit, review, and tax services to clients primarily involved in the construction and real estate industry. In addition to these traditional services, he has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and helping clients establish and maintain proper internal controls. Mr. Hale adds significant value to clients by providing annual proactive tax planning. He is proficient in selecting and implementing the best tax method and strategies available that optimize cash flow for each individual client.

He graduated from The University of Florida in 2009 and earned a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Phoenix in 2010.

Philip C. Travis joined the firm in 2010. Philip has over 13 years of experience in public accounting with a heavy concentration in construction and related industries. Philip provides audit, review, compilation, and tax services to clients. Philip adds significant value to clients by annual proactive tax planning. He is proficient in selecting and implementing the best tax method and strategies available that optimize cash flow for each client.

Jenny Loney

Jenny Loney

Jenny joined the firm in 2017. Jenny is the head office manager taking care of everything from processing financial statements and tax returns to all aspects of human resources and payroll.

Outside of the office, Jenny enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Dennis Chappell

Dennis Chappell has been with Cooper, Travis & Company, PLC since 1988. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. Dennis graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in accounting. He is married and has 2 daughters.

Dennis has been providing accounting, auditing and tax service to his clients for over 33 years. His primary focus has been the construction industry of which he has an extensive knowledge. He has developed a great working relationship with his clients and makes himself readily available for their needs. He prepares audited, reviewed, and compiled financial statements; assists his clients with obtaining and renewing contractor’s licenses; assists with bonding and financing requirements; assists and prepares required federal and state tax returns.

Audrey M. Dunnebacke

Audrey has been practicing public accounting since 1987. She attended Lipscomb University and graduated in 1987 as Valedictorian of her class.

She began her public accounting career in Nashville and has been with Cooper Travis since 1992. Audrey has extensive experience with construction, real estate, professional services and not-for-profit entities. She provides audit and tax services and strives to develop strong professional relationships with clients.

Mark Coleman

Mark began his public accounting career with Cooper, Travis upon graduating from Lipscomb University in 1994 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Professional Accountancy. He is a Middle Tennessee native, growing up in Williamson County where he continues to reside with his wife Renae and their 2 sons, Riley and Cayson.

He serves as finance deacon at the Franklin Church of Christ and is also an active member of the Downtown Nashville Lions Club having served as both Treasurer and President of the club. He enjoys building relationships with the clients he serves and assisting them with their financial statement, tax, and other accounting needs.

Staci D. Lewis

Ms. Lewis, a native Arkansan, attended the University of Central Arkansas, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1995. Upon graduation, she worked for Boatmen’s of Arkansas, Inc., a bank holding company which is now part of Bank of America, N.A. Ms. Lewis began her career in public accounting with Cooper, Travis & Company, PLC in the fall of 1997. Staci works closely with the firm’s partners in providing audit, review, and compilation services and serves as the firm’s primary contact for clients that utilize the QuickBooks line of accounting software.

Hollye Harrison-Guy

Hollye graduated from Memphis State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting in 1990. She was employed by the audit department of National Firm KPMG in Memphis and Nashville Tennessee from 1990 to 1999 where she served as a senior manager with the firm and provided her with extensive audit experience in manufacturing, retail, and distribution. She has experience working on SEC filings including participating in initial public offerings. She left in 1999 and managed a satellite office for Grannis Wisenant & Associates in Lebanon, TN through 2001.

In 2001 Hollye joined Cooper, Travis & Company, PLC and has been concentrating in auditing for the commercial construction industry for 21 years at CTC. She is also proficient with assisting with accounting infrastructure consulting and operational development, as well as assisting in the accounting software implementation process.

David A. Lantz

David Lantz

David graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting in 1981. He has been with the firm for 3 years and brings with him over 40 years of experience in public accounting and private industry, with an emphasis in the area of tax and tax resolution. David moved to Tennessee in December of 2011 and has spent that time as a Tax Manager in public accounting.

Shortly after moving here, David met his wife, Tammy, and they married in May of 2013. They have 8 grown children and 14 grandchildren. Together they each passed the TN Real Estate exam in February 2020.

Outside of work, David’s favorite things are Bible Study, time with his wife, the Outdoors, Golfing, Hiking, Woodworking, Skiing, Mountain Biking, playing with his grandkids, and following his favorite sports teams (Go Avs).

Aimee Kunkle

Aimee Kunkle has been an accountant with Cooper, Travis & Company since 2006. Prior to joining the firm Ms. Kunkle was a full time mother to her four children. Ms. Kunkle graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration in 1993. She obtained a Graduate Accounting Certificate from Strayer University in 2006 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 2010.

Ms. Kunkle works closely with the firm’s engagement partners to provide audit, review, and tax services to our clients. Her emphasis is on financial statement and tax return preparation for corporations and individuals.

Danny R. VanArsdale

Born and raised in Michigan, Mr. VanArsdale has made middle Tennessee his home since 1998. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy and continues to maintain an active law license. Prior to joining Cooper Travis & Company, he gained extensive accounting experience while working in a variety of industries including construction, healthcare, hospitality, and non-profit.He now enjoys applying his knowledge, experience, and talents to help clients with tax and financial issues.

Danny devotes time to various community service activities that not only benefit others but that he believes also enrich his own life.

He relaxes at home on his small farm where there is never a lack of chores to get done.

George Parrott

George Parrott joined the firm in 2012. With over 40 years’ experience, he is nationally recognized in the construction and real estate industries for financial reporting, tax, and consulting. George is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, with a B.S. in Business Administration, and the Nashville School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate. George is a licensed CPA and also holds the following designations: Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), and is listed as a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Mediator.

In addition to the depth of his experience in the construction and real estate industries, George’s practice also includes construction claims development; HUD cost certifications and HUD financial audits; overhead rate audits for Department of Transportation compliance; litigation support services; financial forensics including fraud engagements; business valuation services for estate and gift tax matters, buy-sell agreements and mergers and acquisitions.

George is very active in the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) at both the national and local levels. He has served on the National Executive Committee and as Chair of the Tax and Legislative Affairs and Accounting and Reporting Committees. He is a current member of the Tax and Legislative Affairs Committee and the Education Steering Committee. In 2014, George received the prestigious Debra Hahn Memorial Award which recognizes outstanding CFMA participation and activity on both the local and national levels. George is a frequent author for Building Profits magazine.

Additionally, George is a member of the AICPA, the Tennessee Society of CPAs, and the Tennessee Association of Professional Mediators. He currently serves on the Federal Tax Committee and the Southeastern Valuation and Forensics Conference Committee at the TSCPA.

Don Singleton

Don Singleton

Don, with over 45 years of public accounting experience with local, regional, and national accounting and consulting firms, has concentrated his career in the construction, manufacturing, and NPO sectors. A native Nashvillian, Don received his B.S degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting from the University of Tennessee at Martin and his J.D. degree from the Nashville School of Law where he was inducted into the Cooper’s Inn Honor Society and received the Founders’ Award for academic excellence. Don is licensed as a CPA in Tennessee and additionally holds the ABV credential in business valuation and the CFF credential in financial forensics from the AICPA. Don is an honorary member of the American Institute of CPAs, a member of the Tennessee Society of CPAs and the Institute of Management Accountants.

Don has provided services to some of the most well-known public and private companies in the nation, with a focus in assurance services, internal auditing, consulting, and financial and construction litigation support. Additionally, Don has authored articles published in Construction Accounting and Taxation and Construction Executive’s – CE This Week.

After retiring as a partner from a national CPA firm in 2018, Don is excited to be included as part of the professional team at Cooper, Travis & Company, PLC, and looks forward to providing services to both the firm and its client base.

Jimmy Morris

Jimmy Morris

Jimmy graduated from Lipscomb University in 2004. He has lived in Middle Tennessee his whole life and currently resides in Rutherford County with his wife, Kara, and their four boys.

He enjoys building relationships with clients and provides audit, review, compilation, and tax services.

Zach Thompson

Zach

Zach was born and raised in the Nashville area, graduating from Brentwood High School in the spring of 2017. He attended the University of Mississippi and received his Bachelor of Accountancy in of May 2021. Zach gained experience working with Cooper, Travis and Company through an internship in the spring of his senior year of college and started working full time in September 2022, and is currently pursuing a CPA licensure.

Zach enjoys spending his time playing golf, watching sports, and building relationships.

Eric M. Hoefflin, CPA

Born and raised in Indianapolis, Eric moved to Nashville in 2017 and joined the firm in 2021, bringing over 10 years of experience in public accounting, tax, and financial reporting.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. Eric graduated from Butler University. His experience includes working for a multi-national CPA firm’s Nashville office, and a regional firm based in Carmel, IN, primarily providing audit, review, compilation and tax services for large, mid-sized and closely-held companies.

Eric’s accounting experience includes working with the construction, manufacturing and real estate industries, as well as not-for-profit entities.
